Valentine's Day Ideas
“Be Mine” spelled with rose petals

-
Hide conversation hearts around the room for children to find. Let children hunt and hide them again and again.
-
Put a little red food coloring in the bathwater.
-
Float red, white, or pink flowers along with your floating candles.
-
With a fabric pen, write the name of your Valentine on a felt heart. Stitch to a stuffed animal or rag doll.
-
Hide a Valentine message and candy under the breakfast plate for an early morning surprise.
-
Make Valentine bags from something sturdy—wallpaper or fabric—and hang them the week before Valentine’s Day. Family members can tuck notes, drawings, treats, or $tore items in family member’s bags over the course of several days. Open bags on Valentine’s Day.
-
Make Valentines on the computer. Create labels using your own photo, add a Valentine message, and then stick the label to treats.
-
Remember old fashioned paper weaving? Paper weave pink, white, and red placemats.
-
Send a “Plastic Mailing Pouch” using Valentine’s candy, stickers, pencils, cards, etc. (Directions are under Gift-Giving 21-30)
-
Watch an old-fashioned love story (that ends happy of course):
Sabrina
Pride & Prejudice
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
My Fair Lady
Ever After
Beauty and the Beast
The Sound of Music
-
Cut pictures of children, grandchildren, or students and tape inside of candy or cupcake liners. Place liners in decorated box and fill each liner with the child’s favorite candy. This makes a great gift for a grandparent, teacher, or parent.
