1 cup butter or margarine

2 cups flour

1/3 cup light cream (half & half)

Colored sugar

Butter Cream Frosting

 

Cut butter into flour until mixture resembles corn meal.  Stir in cream.  Roll out dough to 1/8 inch thickness.  Cut with a 2 inch round cookie cutter.  Place cookies on ungreased cookie sheet.  Prick with tines of fork and sprinkle with colored sugar.  Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.  Cool completely.  Frost with Butter Cream Frosting and sandwich cookies together.

 

Butter Cream Frosting

 

¼ cup butter

1¼ cups powdered sugar

3 Tbsp milk

1 tsp vanilla

 

Mix ingredients, then add 1 to 1¼ cup more powdered sugar.
